Lawmakers of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly have backed the choice of Sen. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada by Gov. Abdullahi Sule as his preferred successor in 2027.
Dr. Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the House gave their support while briefing Newsmen shortly after 11th Caucus Meeting of APC Lawmakers at the State Assembly complex in Lafia today.
Speaker Jatau said that lawmakers of the APC extraction would support Sen. Wadada to succeed Gov. Sule in 2027.
It was reported that the 11th Caucus Meeting of the APC Lawmakers in Nasarawa State House of Assembly held at the office of the Majority Leader had in attendance the Speaker of the House Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, among other APC Lawmakers.
The Speaker also urged the people of the state to support Sen. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, preferred APC Governorship aspirant of Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed in 2027.
He said that the meeting was among other things to foster unity among themselves for the progress and development of the party in the State.
” We have discussed range of issues involving unity, peace and progress of the party as well as the recent endorsement of Sen. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada by Gov. Abdullahi Sule as his preferred successor.
. We as APC Lawmakers are united and we are going to remain united, loyal to the party and follow the decision of His Excellency on his preferred successor in the state.
” I want to appreciate His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule for what he is doing in the State.
“He is handling the affairs of the state in a good way. We commend him for that.
” We also appreciate the synergy between us and His Excellency and other arms of government in the State which has brought the needed peace and development.
” So we are fully supporting and backing Sen. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as Gov Sule’s successor in 2027.
” This is because during consultations by APC Governorship aspirants, we told them that we are going to support any aspirant that His Excellency annointed.
Jatau also appealed to other APC Governorship aspirants to accept the decision of the Governor and support Wadada to succeed.
” I also want to appeal to other APC Governorship aspirants to rally round Gov. Sule preferred successor, Sen. Ahmed Aliyu Wadada”
” Let’s all support the Governor’s decision and drum support for Sen. Wadada and APC to succeed in 2927,” he added.
